Sara Berkai is the founder of Ambessa, an edtech startup designing educational kits globally. With a background in tech, Sara graduated with a BSc at UCL and later completed an MSc in Education from the University of Oxford. Sara has been recognised in Forbes 30 Under 30 in Social Impact, Innovate UK’s Women in Innovation award, Young ICT Leader by the UN's ITU and AnitaB.org ‘Pass It On’ award.

Ambessa designs educational tools (hardware and software) for children aged 8-15.  Ambessa launched on Kickstarter in 2023 with orders from 600+ parents across 32 countries and was backed by the Kickstarter CEO. Ambessa has since been featured in Financial Times, Fast Company, and Forbes and won awards from Dezeen and D&AD. For every kit purchased, a refugee child receives one for free.
